Chicken Run : Eggstraction is an action and comedy packed heist game made in house at Aardman Animations in Unreal 5.
My role as Art Director at Aardman was primarily in the games team and covered a range of projects. My responsibilities included coming up with game concepts, developing visual styles, characters and worlds, pitching to external publishers and press, building and managing an art team, producing concept art and in-game assets, level dressing, lighting and post process effects. On this project I also had the privilege of working closely with Aardman founder and animation legend Peter Lord to develop the character designs. I also collaborated with other incredibly talented members of the wider Aardman family in developing the key art and other marketing assets and worked closely with the art department from the film ‘Chicken Run : Dawn of the Nugget’ to ensure authenticity and parity across the projects.
